FAQ

Common questions,honest answers.

Everything you need to know about working with Cedar Zephyr Business Solutions — from what I do to how we get started.

What exactly does Cedar Zephyr do?

Cedar Zephyr Business Solutions provides strategic operational development for small businesses and growing organizations. That means I help you design and document internal processes, build scalable systems, develop programs and training materials, and optimize workflows so your business can grow without chaos. I work directly with founders, operators, and small business owners — not as a virtual assistant, but as a strategic operational partner.

Who do you typically work with?

My ideal clients are small businesses and startups with 2–25 employees who are in a growth phase — too big to run on improvisation, but not yet large enough to justify a full-time operations hire. I frequently work with contractors, real estate professionals, service-based businesses, and nonprofits in Washington State, including Seattle, Tacoma, Puyallup, Federal Way, and Tukwila. I also work with clients remotely throughout the Pacific Northwest.

How is this different from hiring a virtual assistant?

A virtual assistant completes tasks. I build the systems that make tasks unnecessary. My focus is on operational intelligence — designing repeatable workflows, documenting processes, and creating the structural foundation that allows your business to scale. You won't be handing me a to-do list; you'll be partnering with someone who thinks strategically about how your business operates.

What does an engagement look like?

Every engagement starts with an Operations Strategy Session — a 20 to 30 minute conversation to understand your business, evaluate your current operations and workflows, and determine if we're the right fit. From there, I'll send a proposal outlining scope, deliverables, and pricing. Engagements typically run 1–6 months. I offer hourly support, fixed-scope packages, and ongoing contract arrangements depending on your needs.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is customized based on scope, complexity, and engagement structure. I don't publish flat rates because no two businesses have the same operational needs. What I can tell you is that my pricing reflects the strategic value of the work — not hourly administrative labor. The best way to get a clear picture is to book an Operations Strategy Session so I can understand your situation and provide an accurate proposal.

Do you work with businesses outside Washington State?

Yes. While I'm based in Washington State and serve clients locally in the Seattle, Tacoma, and greater Puget Sound area, I work with clients remotely throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Most of my work is conducted virtually, so geography is rarely a barrier.

How many clients do you take on at once?

I intentionally limit my client load to 6–8 active engagements at a time. This isn't a constraint — it's a quality commitment. When you work with Cedar Zephyr, you get my full attention, not a stretched-thin service. Every client receives consistent, focused support from me directly.

What industries do you serve?

I work across industries, with particular experience in contracting and construction, real estate and property management, service-based businesses, nonprofits, and professional services. If your business is in a growth phase and needs operational structure, there's a good chance I can help — regardless of industry.

What happens if we're not a good fit?

I'll tell you honestly. The Operations Strategy Session is a mutual evaluation — I'm assessing fit just as much as you are. If I don't think I'm the right person for your needs, I'll say so and do my best to point you toward resources that can help. I'd rather have a short, honest conversation than a long, misaligned engagement.

How do I get started?

Book an Operations Strategy Session. It's a 20 to 30 minute conversation with no obligation and no pressure. We'll evaluate your current operations and workflows, discuss your challenges, and determine whether this is the right fit. If it is, I'll follow up with a proposal within 24–48 hours.

Still have questions?Let's talk.

The fastest way to get answers is a 20 to 30 minute Operations Strategy Session. No obligation — just a conversation to see if this is the right fit.
